According to a study conducted by a group from the University of British Columbia, participants who swapped starchy foods like pasta, rice, potatoes with less starchy vegetables like cauliflower had lowered cholesterol levels and significant weight loss. One cup, or a 250 ml serving of cauliflower is a mere 29 calories and 5 grams of carbs, while the same serving portion of long-grain brown rice is 216 calories, with 45 grams of carbs!




  1. Keep it creamy by swapping mayonnaise with yogurt

Substituting yogurt for mayonnaise for your salads and sandwiches would give you the same texture and creaminess. Half a cup of 2-percent Greek yogurt packs 75 calories. The same amount of mayo is approximately 450 calories!
